Forever 21 grey jumper, Vintage cardigan, Diva necklace, Forever 21 cropped cargo pants, no name socks & Urban Outfitters Brogues

This post is titled Awkward because, frankly i felt quite awkward going out of the house in my pants. I don’t know why, maybe it’s because i haven’t worn pants out for approximately the whole of this year, or because i was wearing overly man-style clothes, or maybe it’s because i own some 20something pairs of tights but only three whole pairs of pants. Whatever it was, it was awkward wearing pants to collect my mail from the post office today. If i ever wear pants again, i am so wearing heels hahaha.
Tomorrow i have my first exam and i think i will be wearing a dress. The photo below is of the Urban Outfitters dress/(tunic) i purchased which came in the mail today. If anyone was thinking of purchasing the same item, my review of it would be that if you are tall and planning to wear it as a dress, don’t buy it!! It’s super short! I am 160cm and i think that if you were any taller, flashflashflash hahahaha. Anyway, aside from its shortness, i love it and want to wear it tomorrow but i haven’t washed it yet (it smells like new shoes?) and needs an iron!

My procrastinating during periods immediately before my exams have reached new levels. I have strange studying habits. I always like to get things done early, hand assignments in at least a day before, etc. When it comes to exams, i seem to start studying too early(?) and then by the time it is..a couple of days before exams start i just have no motivation to learn anything else/can’t be bothered anymore. Generally procrastinating only involves simple tasks like staring at my wall and thinking about the holidays to come, but recently i’ve decided to take part in a more tangible type of procrastination.. clearing my wardrobe. I got as far as this because i realised i have accumulated so many new jumpers/cardigans over the winter that they have no where to go as they certainly do not fit under my bed like my summer clothes waiting to take its place!

Anyway they have been sitting next to my door for the past two days and yeah, they really have no where to go.

Forever 21 floppy hat, vintage dress via Sunny Sideup, Forever New belt, Forever 21 white ankle socks and vintage ankle boots

Alright, I have posted this today. But i really took the photos & wrote this yesterday, though i didn’t wear this outfit out yesterday, i wore it to uni on the day before… hahaha. Oh that’s sort of intensifying. The reason why i didn’t get a chance to take photos on thursday was because after uni, i had to rush home and change into my work uniform so that i could go to work. Nevertheless. This is what i wore to my last day of university classes for 2010 :D:D:D
When i took these photos (yesterday) it was so so so beautiful! A 29 degree day though it did get rather windy in the afternoon. But i just love weather like this and i love even more, the balmy nights that follow such beautiful days. There has been a sudden burst of blooming flowers in my front garden as well and i couldn’t help but snap some photos of these lovely little ones. I think they would look absolutely amazing as a flowery wreath to wear around your head for a garden wedding but alas, i am not attending a garden wedding or any wedding to warrant such a necessity.

This is the wine coloured floppy hat i got from Forever 21 and although it’s part of their winter items, i think i will be wearing this as often i can this coming summer. Absolutely amazing it is. It just happens to flop in all the right places hahahaha.
The dress is from the lovely people at Sunny Sideup Closet and it is the most beautiful khaki/grey colour. I love it and i especially love the ruffled collar and bows on it!

On Thursday i handed in my last assignment for the semester, a 2800 word report, sort of horrifying to write as i have never written something so long. Exams start the coming week so i’ll be spending most of the coming days engrossed in my beautiful picture-free law textbooks, pretty interesting marketing textbook and absolutely blandblandbland black and white accounting textbook (urghh, i don’t know why i thought it would be sane to do another semester of accounting).

OH one of my Lookbook photos were spotted as the profile pic of Lookbook’s facebook page which was absolutely amazing..!! I’d like to make clear that i don’t wear 3d glasses with the lens popped out around the street and they were merely used as a prop for the Sportsgirl styling comp i entered into, to make the photos have a theme/link/fun vintage times :P

I’ll try keep in touch during the exams, but updates will defs be way less often. When i’m done with uni for the year, i have some exciting things planned for my Etsy store and of course, a lovely giveaway too.
Over and out!

Recent Purchases

I don’t know about you, but i like to shop in bulk. I generally buy a huge bunch of things, kill my bank acc etc, then buy not much until a few months later, where i buy another load of things, kill my bank acc etc, and.. (the cycle continues)
I think i like shopping online more than shopping in store. I don’t know. For one, shopping centres always seem to give me headaches. I also hate crowds and not having to find my size. Now that i think about it, i haven’t been shopping in a shopping centre for a very, very long time. In fact, i didn’t buy a single thing during the end of financial year sales this year. Impressive…hahahahha
Anyway, the point is – a couple of months ago, I was so ever happy to be chosen as one of the ten winners for the Forever 21 Back to School Standout contest on Chictopia.com! I was mighty excited to receive my $100 gift voucher and decided to do my hmm once every approximately three month shopping on Forever 21 :) I went a little over the gift voucher however as i decided to get some goodies for my sister too :)

*Boy am i enjoying Compose mode lately..!!*

So I got myself:
* A pair of sunglasses

* A mustard scarf (keeping for winter next year)
* A pink bow beret (keeping for winter next year): To those in the North Hemisphere who were still interested in bow berets I was wearing during Winter, there are plenty at Forever 21 :)

* A grey floral cardigan
* A navy floral silk top: This one is very lightweight and breezy, i think i will be wearing it a lot this Summer
* A pair of houndstooth shorts

* A pair of khaki cargo pants: I’ve been eye-ing some cargo pants ever since the model i was dressing at the Chadstone VIP Vogue Shows was wearing some for the show. So these really satisfied my cravings haha

* A wine coloured floppy hat:Yes, yes yes!! I don’t know how long it has been since i have been looking for a hat like this but ..finally.
* A black cloche: I wanted one of these for Winter this year but never ended up getting one so yay, one for next Winter :)

* A pair of clogs: I actually purchased these in two sizes. I am a 7.5AU and i wasn’t sure if i would fit the 7 or 8. Turns out, 7 fits me fine, so now i have a spare pair in size 8 left. They are super duper comfy to walk in too :) So if anybody was interested in purchasing the size 8 off me, just shoot me an email at kisforkani@gmail.com with your location and i’ll give you a shipping quote :) **SORRY, SHOES NOW ON HOLD**

I also got my sister a cute floral print dress, pair of leggings & earrings :) I was scared she wouldn’t like the dress as she sometimes dresses a little tomboy (haha hello sis :P), but she actually loved it. Phew!

A few weeks ago, a friend helped me bid on these lovely shoes on Ebay. They are from Urban Outfitters but since we weren’t planning on a group order, i thought i may as well Ebay them. They are some lovely shoes, however they do run large (in case anyone else was thinking of buying them). I still need to get heel grips for mine!

So the funny thing was, we ended up doing a group order off Urban Outfitters anyway in the end and I also got this dress :) There was a 20% off code for UO which my friend found, for those who were interested – it is TEENVOGUE and works for all full priced items, ending the end of this month :)

WHY KANI YOU ARE SUCH A SHOPOHOLIC!! Haha, oh my, i try not to buy too many things/things that i don’t need/wear once and chuck out! Anyway my excuse for today’s post is that i haven’t bought hardly anything (new) since June :)

A list of things i would not mind acquiring in the near future are
*An amazing dream job
*A high-waisted bikini (please, someone, make some?)
*A varsity jacket in maroon or navy
*A double loop scarf
*Vintage buckle brogues
*Swedish Hasbeens…..
*and lastly, thrifting a lot of pretty Summer dresses!

I haven’t got any outfits to share right now, been studying for exams next week and completing that 2800 word law assignment. So hope you enjoyed this post! I don’t normally do these posts often as, i simply have nothing new to share :P So let me know if you would like to see more of this/non-outfit things.
And also, i’m interested: Do you buy 378524 things all at once then lay off the shops for a good few months, or do you have a chronic shopping itch?
