store update

500! {Modelled photos thanks to Lina, Marie, Maddy,Jacqueline & Sarah}

Celebrating 500 Etsy sales with a post dedicated to my other website, my Etsy store. I’ve never quite had the time to do special posts for my Etsy as I always feel so strapped for time juggling my uni degree and blogging. However, it is my other life outside of uni and blogging, where I spend many hours every week designing and creating handmade headpieces, and I’m so happy to do this as my side job! It’s been a really rewarding journey so far and I just love shipping out little handmade packages and watching them make their way all around the world to lovely new homes.

So to see what exciting lives my headpieces have been living, I would love to compile an album on my Facebook page where I’d love to see your photos of how you wear Kani headpieces – whether it’s at a picnic, university ball, music festival or for a wedding. If you would like to share a photo, it would absolutely make my day if you email them through to kisforkani[at] :)

And to celebrate the big 5-0-0 and to thank all my readers and customers for your support, I’ve released a special discount code: use ‘MERRY500‘ for 15% off all orders for one week until 30th August. A large portion of my pieces are one-offs or limited run so, as cliche as it sounds, it definitely is first in best dressed!

I will also be giving away one handmade oversize rose crown in your choice of colour combination to one lucky reader.

Congratulations to Jeline Catacutan who won this giveaway <3

Yay! Congrats on 500 Etsy sales. Totally proud of you. I’ve always loved your floral crowns!! I’d wear the crown just about anywhere! A fun shoot with my friends, out in the park, road trips, etc. I’d even wear it at home! I love wearing flower crowns. They make me feel wonderful. To be honest, I feel like a fairy princess/floral goddess when I wear one! Hahaha, sounds childish but true! I also love how I could wear the floral crown casually (a la Lana Del Rey maybe?) or formally. Maybe to a garden wedding or something. I’d probably wear it with just about anything because it’s so versatile and PERFECT! ♥

Congratulations Connie! i’m so excited that you’ve completed this milestone in your business venture. I’ve always wanted a handmade one of a kind (made by Connie) piece ever since you started your shop! But I’ve never quite collected enough money to spend on these little pieces of luxury (I blame ASOS :P) So I’d like to take this opportunity to get one of my own!
I’d like one in pastel pink, and I’d wear it with a sheer mint assymetrical dress, baby blue platform shoes, and a studded belt to my birthday party, This October! This crown would be a perfect birthday present. *fingers crossed*

I’ve seen your crown literally EVERYWHERE in the net so obviously I’d love own one myself lol! That’s my fav I’d wear it with a cream-colored lace crop top and some highwaisted black leather shorts to add a bit of an edgy feel to the look. Also I’d wear platforms with a chunky wooden heel and black and white striped socks and I’d be ready to go and eat ice-cream with my family and all my friends (kind of cheesy i know haha…)

I really love this one (, it is really beautiful. I would wear it with a simple, elegant, high-necked white lace dress, and let it be the standout piece. I also think it would look cool contrasted with a loose yellow duffle coat over a white dress. I would wear it anywhere really, it could be casual and quirky enough to wear to uni, or dressy enough to wear out for dinner or lunch in the summertime. I recently stumbled across your blog Connie (only a few weeks ago) and I was addicted in a day! I love your style, its different to what ‘fashion icons’ usually wear and I love that!! YOU ROCK x

Congratulations on 500 sales and here’s to many more. Your floral crowns are beautiful. It’s really hard to pick a favourite but I am unable to take my eyes off this one :
I love the versatility of floral crowns so in the day time, I would wear it with a simple striped top with a flippy skater skirt or high waisted shorts and some comfy hightops but then transform it into night wear with a white crochet/lace dress and cropped leather jacket. Don’t forget some fabulous nude pumps to boot.

I look forward to many more awesome posts.

    Dear Kani,

I’ve been in love with your floral crowns from the very beginning. They look very sophisticated in their simplicity. I would love to have the burgundy one ( because I guess it would match pretty perfectly with my dark hair. As I am going on Erasmus to Nottingham this year and I will be spending my 20th birthday rather alone, far away from home, my family, boyfriend and friends it would made my birthday if I could proudly wear your floral crown and feel like a princess on that special day. I would match it with one of my dresses for sure and I could send you then photo of my b-day outfit.

This wouldn’t be the only day I would wear it for sure! There will be Nottingham Fashion Week while I will be there so it would be perfect to show it there too. But they are so beautiful that I would wear them all the time!

I wish you all the very best!

Hey Connie, congrats on the 500! You definitely deserve it with all the prettiness that you make.

I absolutely adore this Love that it is on a winding vine base, completes the whole look better than a normal headband base no?

I’d match it with one of my white vintage lace dresses (I have amassed quite a few this season) and spike shoes. I wish I could say I’d wear it prancing about in some dreamy forest, but I can’t, given that I live in the city. So I’d wear it while hanging out with friends, possibly enduring some comment about how I’m embarrassing them in public.(People here are less adventurous in their dressing) I won’t care though, ’cause something this pretty should be shown off! (Oh my goodness, I’ll be fulfilling my nymph in the city dream!)

(I’ll throw in a video with me wearing it dancing gangnam style?)

I love the Pale Pink Floral ( and I’ll wear it everywhere for sure! But mostly at church, one of the look that I have on top of my head right now is a white lace dress, leather jacket and heels, it’ll look perfect with the Floral Headband. The floral from the headband will go perfectly with the dress, because it’ll bring the girly-ish out from the leather jacket!

However it’s incredibly hard to continue posting and whatnot with school and everything. I hope one day I can accomplish what you have!!!

I’ve always wondered how you make such amazing headbands, it’s incredible! Well I really love the I recently bought a collared button up dress from romwe that has white and blue stripes, kind of like a sailor’s dress. The crown would definitely match with that. But I guess the headpiece is one that you could match with almost anything. The versatility is great! I actually wouldn’t mind even wearing it while I prance around the house hehe.

Keep up the amazing designs, good luck and congratulations once again!

It took me so long to choose a favourite, but I love this burgundy one
During Melbourne’s seemingly ever-lasting winter days it would be the perfect thing to brighten up a simple outfit thrown together like high-waisted jeans, boots and a khaki jacket. But as well as this I have my cousin’s wedding during October, and I would love to wear it with a long, flowing black dress. These might sound like boring outfits, but in my head with the headband they look fabulous, haha.

My favourite crown is this one: and if I had it I’d wear it with any of the basics in my wardrobe. I have plenty of plain tops and dresses and I think this’d spice things up. Also my friend’s wedding is coming up in October and she’s asked me to be one of her bridesmaids! I’d definitely love to have burgundy wine rose crown, mainly because burgundy is my favourite colour and my blog title has ‘burgundy’ in it too! Sometimes I’d imagine myself wearing the rose crown matched with a lace dress or any white dress, strolling in a park or somewhere that has picturesque scenery and surrounded with beautiful wild flowers, and just lay down on the vast green grass with my best friends and stare into the blue sky with pearl white clouds. It’s almost like a beautiful knitted dream but in real life, I think I would wear it whenever I have a picnic with my friends or when I do a flower-themed party :)

The blue floral crown twined in my hair:)…simple and sweet…anyone would feel like a queen with a crown of roses!! A full cream net skirt, light-wash denim jacket with an american flag on the back for an edgy touch and an apricot belt:) I would wear it out and anywhere at all.
Embrace Life….Congratulations on 500 Etsy sales:)

congratulations dear, i think it is wonderful that you manage to create such beautiful things and share it with the world! i am loving the burgundy rose crown,… just because i can imagine it with the perfect air-dried hair, black highwaisted shorts, white t-shirt and combat boots at some festival where the music is laid back but everyone is enjoying themselves. xoxo

I absolutely love the pastel pink floral crown! I think there are so many ways to wear the floral crown. I would most probably wear it with an army green jacket, a graphic tee, pastel denim shorts and my doc martens. Or I would wear it with a lace dress and wedges. The possibilities are endlesssssss sigh.

    Oh, cogratulations!
I would love to have this colour: I would combine it with a white lace dress and some flat brown sandals; an easy breezy outfit that gets an updo with the rose crown.

love the pastel blue one! the pastel-ness is so dreamy +DDD

i would wear the crown with a a studded white top, the ones with the gold studs at the collar :D
i’d pair that with this short poofy black mesh skirt i have, looks kinda goth but fairy like at the same time due to the poofy-ness, then layer the outfit with a basic burgundy colored button up shirt made out of cotton.
Add some suspender stockings and match them with a pair of checkered brown and red converse laced up shoes :D
i’d wrap a studded headband around my wrist as a bracelet thingy, and add on a few stone rings!
oh, and i would wear it out for parties, or when i feel fancy :D
congrats on your etsy sales btw!

The pink one is so cute! I’d wear this with a white chiffon shirt-dress belted with a beige skinny belt and nude strappy wedge espadrilles. Seems like the perfect summer outfit. Congrats Kani!

I adore the burgundy wine rose crown! (

I’d wear it throughout the upcoming Autumn (here in England!) to add a touch of spring and colour to the dismal grey skies, it would look lovely amongst the colour changing leaves.. and would contrast perfectly with my forest green coat!

Congratulations on reaching 500 sales on etsy Kani, your creations are truly beautiful :)

Hello Connie! I just found your blog today and fell in love with it. Someday soon I would love to be doing my passion, thanks for being so inspiring!

I really want the crown in to wear to the Arboretum. I go there to be surrounded by the simplicity and beauty of nature, to zone out to my music, do art, and to blog in my own little world. I’ll wear it with my flowy sheer asymmetrical dress with these DIY rose shoes that I wanna do! :)

Congratulations on your 500th sale. May you have many more.beautiful pieces to create. Given the chance, I’d like to get the pastel blue rose crown since I don’t have one in that color yet I’d probably wear it with a plain top and my floral shorts that I got from Asos, or with a black outfit. Haven’t taken a photo of myself in a while so this would make for a good reason..More power to you.

    Congratulations! :)

I’ve loved your blog for ages and was super excited when you won ASOS’s super stylist competition. Well done!

I would love the “rose crown headband – pastel pink, flower crown, Lana del ray, frida kahlo, large rose hair wreath, festival crown, romantic.” []

I have got the perfect outfit planned for it. I would wear it with my flowing lilac chiffon maxi dress, coupled with a long pearl necklace & cream satin heels. I would be wearing that to my parents’ 30th wedding anniversary next month. <3

    With much love from Perth,

    Hi connie!
I’d love this crown: and I’d wear it to the Melbourne Cup as a nice floral change to the usual fascinators you see there. I’d wear it with a short girly colourful 50s styled dress because who doesn’t love girly dresses :)

    Dear Kani,
K is for Kani, F is for Flower crown and J is for Joy, when I win your wonderful crown. I am deeply in love with the crown in burgundy ( In my opinion, this is the colour for autumn which is about to arrive where I do live. I would wear it with cat eyes and a matching lipstick. I already have tights in exactly this colour to keep my legs warm and I think they would look wonderful with it. A white vintage dress with golden dots and a lot of juwellery would complete this look, together with burgundy red Melissa flock shoes. Can you already imagine the look? Of course the crown would be the highlight and make me happy and forget that summer has left.
Oh and another letter for you of course, last but not least: A C. C for congratulations for your 500 sells. You have been a busy girl and earned it. Your blog is always such a source of inspiration and your flower crowns are just gorgeous.
    Love, Sara

Hearts and Stars for you amaaazing work in blogging and on your store !! Literally LOVE YOU. (Also jealous of your work with Betts shoes….)

I really really love this rose crown: Because I must say, I just can’t decide what single colours to go for, considering you have so many other amazing hair pieces. I’d wear it tomorrow at a park, or just really anyway ~ (impossible but still.) as its the beginning of spring and when all the flowers will bloom ~ I could possible clamouflage (:

Hello! I love your blog & your Etsy creations. I’ve followed you for a while and I love your sense of style & ability to make the quirkiest combinations look amazing! :) I would love to be in the running for one of your amazing head pieces, in particular the burgundy wine rose crown ( I would wear it every where & everyday to brighten up my usually gloomy days. I would really love to wear it to the park or at the beach or apple/cherry/strawberry picking~ I’d wear it like a crown made for a fairy princess, haha! Or kind of like how the Seven Dwarves made a bed of flowers for the sleeping Snow White :) (I love Disney princess movies <3).
Good luck to all contestants! && good luck in all future endeavors! We all know that you will achieve great things, & I personally wait to see what comes from you. Take care, xo
