in the studio

Wearing: handmade floral headpieces coming soon to K is for Kani Etsy, To Love Kuvaa crop peplum camisole top, Topshop red ribbed pleated skirt & Gorman Cecilia heels {Photos taken by Nina}

There’s something mysterious that draws me to vintage frames, worn leather suitcases and wooden stools, and makes them the perfect props to use. So you would imagine how delighted I was when one day, I stumbled across this empty wooden ornate frame. I couldn’t help but feel intrigued by this discarded piece – especially its history. Was it a painting, a photograph or other that was framed by it? I can’t seem to let things go to waste. But hey, I like to see it as being eco-friendly by saving the environment from that one extra piece of trash. In any case, I’d like to think that I’ve now given a new life to this frame as a prop for studio photography. It’s super fun to use in photobooth-style photos but here, I used it to compose and emphasise the details of what I’m wearing, to create a quirky little outfit post.

I’ve been on the search for the perfect circular hemmed flippy red skirt for a long while now, and I finally found the perfect one at Topshop! The structured material really ensures a long-lasting flare in the hem which adds plenty of volume to your look. Paired with my staple striped top and new favourite casual Gorman mary-janes with a floral crown to top it all off, I’m definitely ready for soaking up the warmer weather!

Don’t forget to enter my Etsy giveaway which closes this Friday, and as always, have a lovely weekend!

    Love this shoot, how gorgeous!! Topshop has free shipping atm and I’m tempted to get that skirt :P
    On a side note – I was wondering whether you remember how long shipping from Romwe takes? I’ve never ordered from there but I’m eyeing a dress for a ball on the 26th. It says 5-15 days to Australia but I read a review on a random blog that said her order wasn’t despatched until 10 days later!!! Should I risk regular post? :S Would love your help!

      Hey Sue! The skirt is the best! I *think* it runs large, either way, normally I fit a size 6 however mine’s a little large for me, or maybe I have a small waist :(
      I’ve had things delivered in 5 days and also a few weeks, so it can be quite different with every order, depending if it’s ready in stock. Good luck! Maybe you might need a back up dress on hand..!

      I shopped from Romwe about 5 times this year and the items took about 2.5-3 weeks to arrive at Melbourne, Australia. It probably does take 5-15 days to deliver but it kind of takes them a while to despatch it; it took about a week for me.
      Hope this helps (:

        Thank you! Based on Connie’s response and also some others I asked, I went ahead and ordered with regular shipping on Saturday. It’s Monday today and it hasn’t been dispatched yet.. If it doesn’t dispatch by Friday then I’ll be worried but for now I HOPE it’ll be alright! I do have a back up dress in the worst case scenario though! Thanks again :) :)
