store update

Saying hello to 700 sales! I can’t believe only two and a half weeks have passed since I was excitedly celebrating 600 Etsy sales and now, we’re back again! I am truly humbled by the positive reception of my floral headpieces and it is refreshing to know that I am not the only girl who likes flowers in her hair! Over the past few months I have shipped headpieces to America, UK & Israel for weddings, for beautiful brides, their gorgeous bridesmaids and adorable flower girls. I’ve shipped interstate for spring racing carnivals and music festivals, for birthday presents & for birthday girls. And gifts for daughters, sisters and girlfriends too! It’s absolutely amazing to think how a floral headpiece can work on so many different levels, from both everyday-wear to special occasions and I just love hearing how customers are planning to style up their pieces. As a result, I spend my weeks working harder as ever to ensure I can keep creating more floral pieces in several colourways and designs for my store. When it comes to floral hair wreaths and all, I believe that no piece can be too big or too small. Inspired by the extremely popular larger rose headpieces in my shop, I decided to create  a range of smaller rose headbands. With their understated yet accentuated blooms, they are a miniature version mounted on a headband base with the added bonus of cute little leaves peeping out, listed here. Also listed are the dainty ‘little rosie‘ headbands in my favourite pastel shades of lilac, pale blue, light yellow and pink, as well as the ‘rustic love‘ hair wreaths in equally sweet sorbet colours.

To celebrate the little rose pieces now in store, and for reaching another exciting milestone, I would love to give my readers the chance to win a piece of their choice from the ‘little r o s e s’ section of my shop here. It’s super easy to enter: simply browse the pieces here & let me know in the comment below: a link to the piece you love most & how you’d wear it. Don’t forget to leave a contact email should you win. I will choose a winner in a weeks time, 12/10. Good luck!

I’d pick Sweet Fairy ( my wardrobe -which previously consisted of mostly navy blue and whites- has been raided by the pastel trend recently, and I’ve been working it in bit by bit: mostly a stark white tee with a coloured skirt and my usual ballet flats! I’d wear the headband with a slightly messy ballet bun, simple pearl studs and my new pastel blue skater skirt for a ballerina-meets-forest-fairy city look.

Love your blog, Connie, and congratulations! Thanks so much for this opportunity!

    I absolutely love this one:
The colours of the flowers are gorge. I’m thinking a white chiffon maxi skirt, cropped and fitted white tee with a pair of chunky black boots would give the pretty piece such edge!

I chose this piece because first, I love pastel colors and second, because I know that this kind of colors definitely go well on black hairs, like mine. I’d wear it with a very simple but very dainty dress. A pastel one too, maybe. And because I wanted to go all the attention on my flower crown, I will not wear accessories no more. A flower ring, perhaps.

Congrats on the 700! I can see why they’re so popular- they’re just too adorable (I have been silently lurking & adding many of them to my Etsy favourites)! In fact oh my gosh, they’re even too adorable to pick just one! If I had to though, then I would probably pick the ivory pastel rose headband ( because, even though the neutral colour would go best with the wacky & crazy colours I like to wear, it still makes a big statement! ;)

Hey Connie, congrats on hitting 700 sales! I’ve always been a fan of your floral headpieces; I think they’re amazingly beautiful! Although I’m in love with all the pastel colors, I would probably choose the ebony black … just to be practical. I would go simple with a white v-neck shirt with high-waisted shorts and some black flats to match with the headband. Another pairing would be with a pastel pink sheer collared shirt and black leather shorts, just to have the contrast between the “cute” of the headband and shirt, and the “edgy” shorts.

thank you for giving us all a chance to win! congrats once again, and all the best for your future success x

    This is my favourite piece:
I’d probably wear the headband with a million outfits since it’s so versatile and I’ve been a huge sucker for burgundy lately. For more casual day-to-day outfits, I’d keep it simple and pair it with a simple blouse — probably my favourite white vintage one — and depending on the day, wear it with tights, jeans, etc. If I’m feeling fancier, I’ll pair it with my favourite little black dress with lace detail and a belt. With this particular piece, I’d likely be wearing it with just about anything in my closet that matches it — I’m also thinking of a yellow and navy combination. The possibilities are endless!

Congratulations on 700 etsy sales Kani! You totally deserve since your pieces are absolutely amazing! I admire the time, effort and detail you put into every headpiece to make it perfect. It was hard choosing a favourite but it would probably be the “Romantic Pastel Rose” one in burgundy because it’s so versatile! There are so many outfits I can think of pairing this with! Flowy dresses, spring knits, brogues, dainty accessories. I love how this piece is so dainty, whimsical and girly but the dark burgundy hue adds a touch of unexpected edginess of some form. Thinking about all the possibilities and the places I’d wear this crown to fills me with joy :) It’s so versatile to dress up or down, for everyday wear or formal wear the possibilities are endless! Hopefully One day I’ll be able to bust out enough cash from my wallet to purchase a headpiece because there’s no way I’m missing out! I can already imagine all the compliments I’d get. “I love that.” “Omg where did you get that?” haha :)

Geezus Kani, you’re asking me to choose among all of these beautiful pieces.. ! I regularly browse your store and cannot stop coming back to lust after this one:

It’s just so perfectly romantic! So I’d keep the theme going with my slightly sheer, black pleated maxi skirt, a rose pink blouse tucked in, ribbon strap heels in a beautiful maroon, with a simple, light gold rope belt. Oh, and of course, dainty accessories!

    I love all your pieces but especially love this one;
The question isn’t how would I wear it, but when wouldn’t I wear it! I’d wear it while walking my dog, to summer bbqs, to the supermarket, to visit my grandparents, at work to lively up boring meetings. I would wear it all the time. :)

I tried on your wine flowers tonight and felt so Friday Kahlo that I somehow resisted the urge to pull out my kohl pencil and draw on a fashionista monobrow. I would wear this when feeling tragic, artistic and wearing a little ‘red wine around the lips’ to match the flowers.

    Chère Kani,

Thank you for your designs and your beautiful photos which always make me feel happy and optimistic just to look at them (and imagine I could own one or two of those one day). I guess that’s what they call the “flower power”. :o)

My favourite piece of the “Little roses” collection is :

The burgundy colour makes it dramatic, intense, romantic, even pictural (it makes me think of dark XIXth century paintings). I think it really matches the current rainy Parisian weather.

Therefore, I imagine I would wear it with an elegant black dress and heels, and matching burgundy lips. Yes, I think the outfit should have an equally deep and vibrant colour. It would also work great with deep dark green (one of my favourite colours).

And I would wear it for all occasions because it would make me feel special and because Parisian people need to see more flowers.

    Herro Kani!

I left a comment before.. but I don’t think it posted properly, so I apologise if this ends up being a double post, with very similar messages, haha.

I’d first like to say congratulations on your collaboration with TopShop! I envy all the people in Melbourne who got to admire your gorgeous creations! I wish you would come to Sydney, you could set up a stall at one of our markets and I guarantee you;d have over 100 customers (me included!) haha.

One of my favourite pieces from you is this one in particular. I adore the bright yet colour of it:

For most people, spring means florals, pastel and light colours. But for me, spring means bright, vibrant colours that stand out! Though I do love florals too :).. Haha, this might sound silly, but I draw a lot of inspiration from the classic Disney movies. For instance, one of my Disney-inspired outfits that I love to wear is this one Wearing one of your floral crowns would be the perfect addition to make me feel a like a Disney princess, haha.

Congratulations again for all the amazing things you’ve done over the years! I wish you good luck on your future endeavours we all know that more great things will come from you :)

    <3 Mari

Congratulations on reaching 700 and your incredible collaboration with TopShop! You absolutely deserve this recognition, your style is so sweet and quirky – I’m totally addicted!
It’s so hard to choose just one, but I think I would pick the burgundy romantic pastel rose head band (
I’d wear it with my favourite beige-and-white velvet dress, with brown leather ankle boots and burgundy coloured ankle socks to match the crown, plus accessorise with some dainty vintage gold bracelets.
Congratulations again, and all the best for the future! :)

Congratulations on reaching 700, that is spectacular! This plus being a law student, wow. You are certainly a dedicated girl with abundant creativity :)
I can’t decide which one is my favourite, but if I really really had to it would have to be the rustic love hair wreath because there are just so many ways to wear it! I’d wear it down to the beach with a matching pastel blue scalloped skirt and a vintage white button down collared shirt with contrasting red lipstick. But then, I’d also kill to wear it to my school formal – it’s EXACTLY the same colour of my dress! Exactly! But as they say in the El Paso taco commercials – “¿Por qué no hacer las dos cosas?” (“Why don’t we do both?”)
    Much love, Samantha.

Congratulations Kani!! Your head pieces are amazing but as I am a teenage school student, they are out of my budget so it would be amazing to win one! My favourite is and I would wear it with a simple collared shirt and chiffon skirt to a picnic with all my friends in the summer (:

Wow! That is so crazy to think of all the people out there wearing your little pieces of nature :’) HUGE congratulations!!
Your creation that draws my attention the most is the rustic love hair wreath in pastel purple:
I’d wear it on the (hopefully!) sunny spring day of my engagement party at the botanic gardens! It would go so perfectly with my white skirt, lilac heels and pastel floral-coloured shirt. I don’t even mind whether or not I win the give away – I’m just so excited about my outfit!! And the day, of course, ahem :p
Much love and good luck for the future Kani!

I just love floral headpiece and I would literally wear it out almost anywhere. I would pair this head piece with a PU leather skirt, black shirt over a leather jacket and ankle boots.

I picked this headband because it is the perfect size, not too big or too small because it still gets noticed. The colour will also go well with my light brown hair colour and is the sort of colour which can go with a lot. I would really love to wear it especially with my cute-collared white vintage blouse and a long skirt or black jeans with some cute cream woolen socks peeping above from my brown lace-up boots which look like they are from the victorian era.
