A little bit of muted colour fun. Very rarely do I dress in such dull shades as I’m always one for all things bright and cheery. I really don’t know what I was feeling when this mix was put together but I sort of like the look. Melbourne has been quite cold lately so a really warm coat is always a necessity here! I’m still on the hunt another perfect winter coat. I bought this coat a couple of months ago though after wearing it non-stop in London, I now feel like it’s a little bit dull in colour for me. So far, I have just one coat that I am completely, utterly in love with – my dark orange coat from a couple of posts ago. So I’m still on the look out for another and have been using this “need” as an excuse to trawl the shops online. Next week, I’m going to be having dental surgery to have all four of my wisdom removed (*cries*) so I think I shall have plenty of time in bed to go shopping online. Feeling delirious on anaesthetics/painkillers would probably also speed up the justification journey to “check out”!

Time to bust out the colour for another cold and gloomy Melbourne Winter! These pastel pink See by Chloe wedges that I ordered right after I posted my latest “Currently Loving” post, have really inspired me to play around with the pastel palette. I’ve been constantly decorating my collared shirts with vintage sweater guards. I’ve been collecting them for over a year now and now have quite a collection. I think I love them so much as it’s just so much comfier to wear something clipped onto a collar than to throw a necklace on. I especially hate putting on a necklace on a cold morning only to have the cold metal against my skin give me the chills. I decided to break up the apricot, lilac and pastel pink with some printed pants from Topshop which are actually surprisingly warm! They were from the Summer collection and was also done in a bandeau as well – but I just find the bright colour so fitting for brightening up a cold day! So I wear them in Winter :) And these wedges? I am so happy I bought them. I should really do more of those posts every time I want to convince myself to buy something, because by the time I finish writing about how much I like something, I have totally convinced myself that the purchase is justified. Now they’re supposed to be sneaker wedges but I refuse to see them as that. I like to think that they are a bit more polished up and refined than your average sneaker on a wedge, but I must say, that I can literally run in them like as if they were sneakers.

Ahh. The freedom! I feel like I haven’t done a proper outfit post since a very long time as I have been sharing travel diaries lately. I picked up this wool coat on my last day of London for a mere 35£ on sale and have been wearing it frequently ever since. I feel like a bright coat is an absolute necessity for gloomy, cold days and after coming back from Sydney, I have come to realise that Melbourne gets pretty cold. Well of course not to the point of snowing cold, but still much colder than Sydney which seems to be averaging 5°C warmer than Melbourne for the whole of this week. I sometimes find coats with longer sleeves a bit chunky to deal with and so I have really been taking a liking towards anything 3/4 sleeved or shorter. Or I can just confess it’s because I’ve been in love with this certain Loeffler Randall coat I saw Jenny Humphrey from Gossip Girl wearing some many years ago. The saddest thing is that it’s sold out, so I’m still on the hunt for something similar!
