Wearing: handmade floral headpieces coming soon to K is for Kani Etsy, To Love Kuvaa crop peplum camisole top, Topshop red ribbed pleated skirt & Gorman Cecilia heels {Photos taken by Nina}
There’s something mysterious that draws me to vintage frames, worn leather suitcases and wooden stools, and makes them the perfect props to use. So you would imagine how delighted I was when one day, I stumbled across this empty wooden ornate frame. I couldn’t help but feel intrigued by this discarded piece – especially its history. Was it a painting, a photograph or other that was framed by it? I can’t seem to let things go to waste. But hey, I like to see it as being eco-friendly by saving the environment from that one extra piece of trash. In any case, I’d like to think that I’ve now given a new life to this frame as a prop for studio photography. It’s super fun to use in photobooth-style photos but here, I used it to compose and emphasise the details of what I’m wearing, to create a quirky little outfit post.
I’ve been on the search for the perfect circular hemmed flippy red skirt for a long while now, and I finally found the perfect one at Topshop! The structured material really ensures a long-lasting flare in the hem which adds plenty of volume to your look. Paired with my staple striped top and new favourite casual Gorman mary-janes with a floral crown to top it all off, I’m definitely ready for soaking up the warmer weather!
Don’t forget to enter my Etsy giveaway which closes this Friday, and as always, have a lovely weekend!

Wearing: August Street asymmetrical lilac shirt, Colette necklace, ASOS fluoro pink belt, River Island pastel colour block shorts and Betts highland pastel heels {photos by Sutejo Tan, Egor Evdokimov}
Happy Sunday everyone! It’s been so fun to share the photos from my Betts collaboration with you over the past two weeks. This is the last of the set of five outfits I styled around the Betts pastel and neon shoe collection and I’ve saved the best for last. This is certainly one of my faves for its laidback and comfortable sort of Australian Summer style. Sheer shirts and high waisted shorts are definitely pieces I am looking forward to bringing out as the weather gets warmer and oh, am I dying for the weather to get warmer! It’s been a low 14 degrees for pretty much every day for the past month and Melbourne never ceases to amaze me with the crazy amount of wind and rain we get. Funnily enough, it unfortunately started raining on the day we shot (after having to re-schedule due to rain in the first place!) Sigh, Melbourne!
Shooting the Betts collaboration with Sutejo and Egor was such a charm, their photography styles really click with what I like. So I hope you all enjoyed this collection of photos. And don’t forget to check out the very first edition of Betts e-Magazine, the very reason for the entire shoot, to read an exclusive interview with me :)

Celebrating 500 Etsy sales with a post dedicated to my other website, my Etsy store. I’ve never quite had the time to do special posts for my Etsy as I always feel so strapped for time juggling my uni degree and blogging. However, it is my other life outside of uni and blogging, where I spend many hours every week designing and creating handmade headpieces, and I’m so happy to do this as my side job! It’s been a really rewarding journey so far and I just love shipping out little handmade packages and watching them make their way all around the world to lovely new homes.
So to see what exciting lives my headpieces have been living, I would love to compile an album on my Facebook page where I’d love to see your photos of how you wear Kani headpieces – whether it’s at a picnic, university ball, music festival or for a wedding. If you would like to share a photo, it would absolutely make my day if you email them through to kisforkani[at]gmail.com :)
And to celebrate the big 5-0-0 and to thank all my readers and customers for your support, I’ve released a special discount code: use ‘MERRY500‘ for 15% off all orders for one week until 30th August. A large portion of my pieces are one-offs or limited run so, as cliche as it sounds, it definitely is first in best dressed!
I will also be giving away one handmade oversize rose crown in your choice of colour combination to one lucky reader.
Congratulations to Jeline Catacutan who won this giveaway <3
