Wearing: ASOS Pretty Occasion playsuit | Boohoo tassel bag | PANDORA jewellery | Andrea Moore sunnies

I’m getting my French Riviera diary ready and found this little outfit series shot at Menton, a town only 40 minutes or so away from Nice by train. It was the perfect playsuit for travelling – easy, light, breathable and covered with a pastel explosion of flowers which really reminds me of summer in Europe.

One of the things I just loved about travelling through the French Riviera was just how close all the small towns nearby were and how there were so plenty of opportunities to just travel out and see something new. When we returned to France a month and a half ago, we wanted to see something different to just big cities (Paris was completely overwhelming for us when we went last time, it was just so massive and our lack of French was really getting us no where!) so we skipped a return trip to Paris (perhaps next time) and went travelling along the coast and up the eastern side of France to Annecy (!!!!!!) and Colmar (!!!). These were some of my most favourite places to visit in France so I won’t talk too much about them here but will share them in my upcoming posts soon!

Oh my God, Connie! I love everything about this post. Not only is your outfit so adorable, but the backdrop of Menton frames in incredibly well! I love that leaf earring you’re wearing, it’s mighty lovely ;)

About the French Riviera, though, is it much easier to navigate your way there? I mean, I don’t imagine a lot of people in smaller towns to speak much English compared to big cities. And it’s French, so people there might be twice as stubborn to learn English than other places. It sure does look lovely, though, so it might be worth the trouble.

Hello! Thanks so much for your comment. I loved Menton so much and these very earrings uncovered my new found love for drop earrings :-)

Regarding your comment regarding languages, I know what you mean and thought we’d have issues however our experience actually was surprisingly quite the opposite! When we were in Paris two years ago, lots of people didn’t speak English to us and we struggled to get around with the basic French we knew.. however in every single town we travelled to in France this year on the riviera – Nice, Menton, Eze, etc. the default language was literally English – and really good English too! Even more surprising was when we got to Annecy and Colmar, much less popular tourist destinations for the English speaking – and even there they spoke really good English! Crazy right?
