Although I was thankfully not the victim of any pranks this April Fools – given the only friend I saw today didn’t even give a thought to the significance of this day, I did have an adventurous start to the month. Today I (or we) went house hunting for fun, were chased by multiple wasps whilst eating breakfast for lunch, visited so many restaurants but did not eat at any of them due to indecisiveness and.. decided that Lamborghinis looked like spaceships. I do not offend but really, they really do remind me of spaceships. Or UFOs.

See what I was really meant to do today was update my Etsy shop with new listings and get a blog post up. And here it is. Today, my Etsy shop is ringing in the new month with a very special milestone. 2000 Etsy sales! I really have to say how thankful I am of all your support and love for my headpieces. Honestly, receiving photos in my inbox of how my customers have styled their headpieces, whether it be for an every day or wedding, is the most amazing feeling in the world. Seeing someone walk down the street wearing something I have created makes me beam from ear to ear. This fortnight, I’ve got a special celebratory offer – spend $100 in store and receive a set of floral bobby pins complimentary. Ends 14/4/13. With all this travelling over the past month, I have almost forgotten to share my favourites from my latest drop of handmade floral headpieces! I remember clearly that the last drop of headpieces featured lots of forest birds as I was so inspired by a mother bird’s nest in our front garden. It was a nest which peeped from behind the leaves of a rose bush and over weeks we watched the baby birds hatch, grow and leave their nest. This is probably why I was so inspired to use more birds in these headpieces! The love birds frolicking amongst the flower fields next to their houses are one of my favourite pieces to wear on my hair and also one of my favourite designs. Also amongst this drop was a whole new batch of flower crowns, miniature rose pins and vines as well – some of which have already sold out quickly since :’-) I’ve been busy over the past week working on refilling my shop with many more one of a kind headpieces and can’t wait let you all know first when it arrives in store. I’m also having a lot of fun looking at all of the #kisforkanitagged images from customers on Instagram and am so pleased and excited to see my headpieces in homes around the world. I’m taking a break from my studio now and getting some more Europe posts edited and drafted. See you soon with a new blog update!

I’ve been so crazy busy lately that I haven’t had the time to check in here and show you all the new pieces that have been listed recently at flower heaven aka my Etsy store :-) I’ve been working on a lot of new designs and there’s a lot of variety for all sorts of floral headpiece lovers! There’s not only a fresh batch of statement flower crown headbands, but also an update to the ‘vines’ section – a drop of very elegant and dainty little hair wreaths. I think it’s a wonderful illustration of how both a little pop of floral and a huge burst of flowers can work with your hair and I know that I am loving both for this Summer (or what’s left of it for me as I head off to Europe soon). As always I’ve taken inspiration from gardens and forests, always keen to add in a butterfly here and there or a few birds amongst the petals. A few whimsical flower bobby pin sets have also been listed, which can make great last minute X-mas stocking fillers and I just love how versatile they can be – you could wear them in plaits, in low buns, with your hair down or even tucked into a top-of-the-head donut bun as pictured above!
