Wearing: handmade red rose crown, Topshop deer print bomber jacket, Goldie sheer cropped shirt, vintage sweater guard, Topshop red pleated skirt & Jeffrey Campbell cut out heel shoes
It’s that time of the year when long grass fields overflow at the local gardens, the sun is blazing hot and unforgiving & the days grow long. Whilst living in the reality that is Summer, I’ve been spending a lot of time planning my trip to Europe, flipping through images of the snowy Mt Pilatus and buying the perfect Winter coat that will take me through a real Winter, as opposed to an Australian Winter. In a way, this wintery research keeps my mind in a state of cool. For some reason, the 37 degree day yesterday did not feel as hot as it should have felt and maybe, perhaps, it was because I spent the majority of the day checking out Winter activities in Paris..
I’ve had these Jeffrey Campbell shoes in my wardrobe for almost a year now. They’ve been buried behind all my other shoes and I soon forgot about them. Luckily I remembered them today as they were the perfect shoe for my lilac and red combination! And speaking of this light pastel purple and bright red combo, I am very surprised to find how well pastel colours mix with vibrant ones, when you pair the right colours together. The deer print jacket is also a piece I’ve had for a while – except I have been getting a lot of wear out of this one, just not on my blog. I just love the quirky print of it and was so close to getting the matching deer print skater skirt as well. Then I counted the deers on this jacket and decided I had enough. Just in case you wanted to know, there were 50 and more…oh deer! :-)

Wearing: Cici shirt, vintage apricot jumper, vintage sweater guard, daisy butterfly bracelet, Topshop printed trousers, ASOS rings, neoprene bag from FW & See by Chloe sneaker wedges
Time to bust out the colour for another cold and gloomy Melbourne Winter! These pastel pink See by Chloe wedges that I ordered right after I posted my latest “Currently Loving” post, have really inspired me to play around with the pastel palette. I’ve been constantly decorating my collared shirts with vintage sweater guards. I’ve been collecting them for over a year now and now have quite a collection. I think I love them so much as it’s just so much comfier to wear something clipped onto a collar than to throw a necklace on. I especially hate putting on a necklace on a cold morning only to have the cold metal against my skin give me the chills. I decided to break up the apricot, lilac and pastel pink with some printed pants from Topshop which are actually surprisingly warm! They were from the Summer collection and was also done in a bandeau as well – but I just find the bright colour so fitting for brightening up a cold day! So I wear them in Winter :) And these wedges? I am so happy I bought them. I should really do more of those posts every time I want to convince myself to buy something, because by the time I finish writing about how much I like something, I have totally convinced myself that the purchase is justified. Now they’re supposed to be sneaker wedges but I refuse to see them as that. I like to think that they are a bit more polished up and refined than your average sneaker on a wedge, but I must say, that I can literally run in them like as if they were sneakers.

Wearing: Kani handmade headband, Little Gracie ‘Partride Pea’ top, Lover Corduroy ‘Ono’ shorts {from Claire}, Topshop metal collar necklace, tights & boots and ASOS rings {Photos by Marcus}
I’ve never been one to wear just one colour, but that’s exactly what I did on the Friday of MBFWA. To be honest, I had nothing planned to wear that day and I was so grateful to have Ebony’s beautiful ruffle sleeved wool crop top on hand to work with and even more grateful to have Claire lend me her amazing Lover corduroy shorts. I didn’t bring enough clothes, which doesn’t make sense now that I look back, considering I was 13kg over my luggage limit on my way back and had to ask Marg to help me post those 13kg the following week. I couldn’t help but keep with the theme and bring out my oxblood lace up boots but broke it up with some gold accessories. Though the nail colour, was a coincidence. I’m obviously a fan of the colour! I bought this collar necklace on a whim at the Topshop flagship store in London, which by the way, is the hugest non-department store I have ever been into. It’s about the size of a suburban Myer/David Jones and has five levels. One level dedicated solely (excuse my unintentional pun) to shoes & concession brands. One level dedicated to bags and accessories. One level dedicated to Topshop and two more above to Topman. Crazy stuff. Anyway amongst browsing different accessories in their thousands (I swear, thousands) I picked out this simple gold metal collar necklace on my last day at London – which of course, I dedicated as fully as possible, to shopping on Oxford St <3
